In 2022, Rogue World Music…
Produced opportunities for over 6,000 people attend, participate, learn, and connect via FREE music and/or dance offerings. This included the:
Ashland World Music Festival events: Percussion Workshop, HeartBeat Stories, Park Performances, AWMF SoundWalk, & Winter SoundWalk.
Songbirds children’s world music education program: all Kindergarten-5th grade students of Talent Elementary, Phoenix Elementary, & Orchard Hill Elementary, plus a family sing night in Talent & in Phoenix, OR.
Cultural Outreach Program events: Afroscoutz Ghanaian music workshop, the 2nd annual Almeda Fire Commemoration, the Talent Harvest Festival, the 1st annual Rogue Valley Make Music Day, & the annual Talent Dia de Los Muertos celebration.
Hired, and amplified the work of over 40 culture bearing artists as part of our on-going dedication to create authentic cultural connections with a focus on context and nuance.
Saw the 1st anniversary of hiring our first BIPOC Executive Director: Ana Byers.
Welcomed our first BIPOC member to the Board of Directors: Gabriel Barrera.
Raised almost $10,000 for Almeda Wildfire recovery and rebuilding efforts, bringing our overall funding raised for this community need to almost $30,000 since 2020.
